| Description | Ngare Ndare forest is located in the Imenti district of northern Kenya. The forest is indigenous and covers an area of 5,554 hectares. The direct beneficiaries are 3,000 people living in the northern part of the forest although a total of 8320 live in the surrounding area and will benefit from clean water for themselves and their livestock. In addition, the river flows on to a large population further north in Kenya. The project emerged from an inappropriate use of current water consumption for both domestic and agriculture. To improve hygiene and health, combating cholera, diarrheal diseases and protecting the environment, the project aims to:
