Strategic Plan

The Africa Digna Foundation was created towards the end of 2004 to carry out the mission of helping people with meager resources in Sub-Saharan Africa improve their living conditions.

Under the leadership of Dr. Mercedes Barceló, during the first 5 years of carrying out our work we have consolidated a private non-profit foundation which has promoted international cooperation projects in Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea, Rwanda and Kenya mainly in the areas of health and education. We have worked especially hard for the protection of children and women, as well as protecting the environment and the local cultures through the promotion of human rights and the culture of peace.

During the first decade of this millennium the African continent has continued to be forgotten on an international level.  The Millennium Development Goals indicators and the Human Development Index of the United Nations Development Program continue to show that Africa is the continent with the most needs.

The Africa Digna Foundation believes that to provide the opportunity to live a dignified life is a universal goal. To this end we will work towards the construction of a social justice that would allow the eradication of poverty and inequality by promoting the access to basic social services and the conservation of the environment in an atmosphere of peace and human security.

In this context, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved the following Strategic Plan 2010-2015.
