Mercedes Barceló
Chairperson of Africa Digna.
Graduated in medicine and surgery from the University of Barcelona, with two postgraduate courses in Tropical Medicine, and spent 23 years on staff at Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona.
Expert on Africa, she visits frequently, spending 3 to 4 months there annually to identify and evaluate projects.
Cristina Cuatrecasas
Vice-Chair of Africa Digna.Graduated as a vet from the University of Barcelona, with a dermatology postgraduate course in tropical medicine from the University of Barcelona.
She lived for two months at the University of Morogoro in Tanzania and for 6 months working as a volunteer in the Kenya Wildlife Service in Kenya and supervising Africa Digna projects. She is now studying to be a doctor, specializing in Tropical medicine.
Carlos Bueno
Secretary of Africa Digna.Graduated in law from the University of Barcelona. A lawyer since 1977, he loves Africa and travels there frequently.
Jose Luís Acha
Member of the Board of Trustees of Africa Digna.Graduated in law from the University of Barcelona. Active member of many foundations he created the Rivalia Foundation whose mission is education for children in Bolivia. It donates medical care and food to a population of over 200 children.
Víctor Barceló
Member of the Board of Trustees of Africa Digna.Graduated with an MBA in economics from the University of Esade. After two years auditing at KPMG, he has spent more than 9 years as an investment banker in La Caixa.Corporation.
Inés Cuatrecasas
Graduated in fashion design from the University of Barcelona, now doing her thesis in Rwanda with a project to help the handicraft quality of that country.Cofounder of the Mille Collines brand based in Rwanda and with shops in Kigali and Nairobi.
Marta Cuatrecasas
Member of the Board of trustees of Africa Digna.Graduated in Journalism from the University of Barcelona and a specialist in international journalism. She worked in the La Vanguardia newspaper featuring African affairs, and now works in Madrid for an internet company.
Josep Lluís Fernández
Honorary Board Member of Africa Digna.Priest and fireman. Graduated in pontifical philosophy from the University of Rome. Founder of the firemen volunteers of Barcelona. Missionary in Cameroon from 1971 until 1986. In 2007 received the Sant Jordi Cross award.
Fernando Labastida
Member of the Board of Trustees.Graduated in economics from Esade and Iese University. More than 15 years of experience working at Arthur Andersen, consultants, Garrigues lawyers and Cluster Consulting.
Management and Administration
Lluís Miret
Manager of Africa DignaGraduated in engineering from the University of Barcelona with post graduate from Esade University in management and administration of companies and NGOs. He has worked for more than 10 years in various NGOs gaining valuable experience in development, information and mediation in disarmament.
Mar Juncà
Coordinator of human resources for Africa Digna. She worked for 3 years between Barcelona and New York in hotel management, and has worked with the foundation since its inception in 2005.Laura Fernández
Accountant for Africa Digna.She has a diploma in Company Management and Finance, and handles the accounts and taxes for the foundation, reporting directly to the manager.
